Most common D5024 code reviews : Interim caries-arresting medicament application, Non-ionizing diagnostic procedure capable of quantifying, monitoring and recording changes in structure of enamel, dentin and cementum or Accession of tissue, gross examination, preparation and transmission of written report.

D5024 Procedures:

Intraoral-complete series (including bitewings). Individually listed intraoral radiographs by the same dentist/dental office are considered a complete series, usually 14-22 images, intended to display the crowns and roots of all teeth, periapical areas and alveolar bone, if the fee for individual radiographs equals or exceeds the fee for a complete series on the same date of service, any fee in excess for the fee for a full mouth series of radiographs is Disallowed.

D5024 Dental Code

Separation of one or more connections between abutments and/or pontics when some portion of a fixed rosthesis is to remain intact D5024 and serviceable following sectioning and extraction or other treatment Includes all recontouring and olishing of retained portions.

2019 D5024 CDT

This code, D5024 treatment of root canal obstruction; non-surgical access, is intended to be used in cases where there is complete calcification of 50% or more of the canal length, not diameter. This code may also be used to report he removal of separated files or other obstructions (but not posts) left in the root canal by another practitioner.

Re-cement or re-bond indirectly fabricated or prefabricated post and core

Sealant repair - per tooth - This procedure is disallowed when performed by the same dentist/dental office based on the same time limitation that exists for replacement of a sealant. It is allowed at 50% of D5024 when performed by a different provider or if after the time limitation for the same dentist.
